Favorite Bloggers

Image
Hey guys! For today's post, I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorite nail polish bloggers that I've discovered over the years. This set of girls have clearly built up a strong following of their own, but they deserve the shout outs nonetheless. They inspire people on a daily basis and there's something beautiful and magical about that!! (Plus, hard work and dedication always deserves recognition, amirite?) So, keep on reading to find out just who these special ladies are! 1. Mary from aLoveTart    Mary was the first ever YouTuber that I ever stumbled upon almost five years ago. I specifically searched on Google "how to paint nails correctly" because I was tired of biting my nails and I figured learning how to paint them properly would be a step on the road to recovery. Her How to: The Perfect Salon Manicure video was the first one to pop up and it literally changed my life. I also watched her How to: Remove Nail Polish From Your Cuticle

NOTD: Elevation Polish The Sea Was Red

Image
Hi everyone! Today I have for you a quick NOTD post sharing with you this amazing indie polish I've been sporting on my nails for the past couple of days. If you want to bask in the jaw dropping awesomeness of this nail polish with me and see what I think of it, keep on reading!! Elevation Polish The Sea Was Red, Indoor Lighting Elevation Polish The Sea was Red definitely looks like a golden holographic polish in the bottle, but once applied it takes on different tones. There's a red to orange to gold/champagne shift when you're looking at it in low lighting, but once the light (artificial or sunlight) hits the surface of your nails, all the holographic goodness comes into play. It is strong. And I love it. Indoor Lighting, Label Holographic polishes are probably one of my favorite finishes just because they can be so beautiful and in-your-face . They're usually easy to apply, quick drying, and aren't a mess to take off like shimmers and glitters a

Mini Haul featuring OPI & Essie

Today I have for you a very tiny little haul for you from last weekend. I'm fortunate enough to have the most amazing nail supply store just minutes away from my house. Needless to say, Lucky's Nail Supply is my wonderland and I often find myself getting into a bit of trouble there, so let's get into this haul! [L-R] OPI Nail Envy, This Cost Me A Mint, Essie Steal His Name, Between the Seats, & Loot the Booty The first polish I picked up was a necessity more than anything. OPI's Nail Envy has been my absolute favorite base coat for as long as I can remember and I needed a fresh bottle. It's supposed to strengthen your nails and prevent them from breaking , peeling, etc. while also providing you with a smooth base for your next mani. I can attest to all of the above. I used to be an avid nail biter and I can honestly say that Nail Envy was one of the very few products that helped my nails grow long and strong. I've used other base coats throughout

About Me

Hello! My name is Jessica. I'm a twenty-six-year-old Miami native who is a full-time university student. I started Lacquered Loves as a creative outlet and as a way to showcase my love of writing and nail polish to fellow enthusiasts.  I am proud to say I'm somewhat of a reformed nail biter. When times of stress or anxiety crop up, I tend to pick at my cuticles, although I've left my actual nail biting alone. It's been a difficult journey over the past few years, but one I'm extremely grateful of. I hope anyone dealing with this nervous tick can find solace here. Because of the nail biting, I started to look for ways to stop, as one does with any bad habit. I thought learning how to paint my nails properly at home would be the best method. And I was right. So this madness began sometime in 2011. My nail polish collection has grown quite a bit since then, and it continues to grow (because I have no self control, let's be honest), so I'll have a lot to
